MOU Signing Between the DTI and IBPAP
28 April 2025, 9:30 AM | DTI Filinvest Building, Makati
To the high-ranking government officials of the DTI headed by Asec Nayla Bautista, Director Lilian Salonga, Jo-Dann Darong, Cheryl Santos, Carolina Velasco, PQA Foundation representatives, and PQA Program Officers, good morning to all of you. Of course, to the IBPAP, Mr. Jonathan Jack Madrid, CEO and President, good morning. Ms. Celeste Ilagan, COO, good morning. Ms. Janet Carrillo, and Ms. Jill Peduca, and the IBPAP members, good morning to everyone, and thank you for joining us for this meaningful occasion today.
Today is the signing ceremony between the Department of Trade and Industry and the IT Business Process Association of the Philippines. This represents more than just a formal agreement, it is an affirmation of our commitment to strengthening partnerships that drive national progress.
The DTI is committed to support the ITBPAP as best and as strong as we can. The IT-BPM sector has been a pillar of economic resilience and a powerful engine of job creation in the Philippines. Through this MOU, we are opening new pathways for collaboration, particularly in embedding a mindset of excellence across organizations and institutions that are shaping our digital and economic future.
The President has given us strict orders to make sure that we take care of all the industries of the Philippines, the foreign investors that are here, that have invested money with us, and one of them is the IT-BPM sector. I commend IBPAP for its consistent leadership in uplifting the industry and for working closely with government to ensure we remain globally competitive and future-ready. Your commitment to innovation, quality, directly contributes to building a stronger, more resilient economy for our people.
This partnership reminds us that the journey to quality is a continuous one. Excellence is not a destination, but it is a way of doing business, a way of serving our communities, and a way of leading our nation towards a more sustainable, inclusive future. We must always strive for excellence, because if we strive for excellence, may mapupuntahan tayo. Let’s already take out the puwede na attitude. Wala tayong mararating pag-puro puwede na ang inisip natin. We are already here, so let’s just do our best and give our best.
As we move forward, I hope this collaboration becomes a model for how the public and private sectors can work together to create a culture of quality and innovation that strengthens industry and uplifts the lives of the Filipino people. We must level up to compete globally as well as to create better-paying jobs for our people.
Importante sa Presidente to create jobs here for our people so that we don’t have to send them abroad to be away from family. So, napakaimportante po ang mga trabaho and ang mga big industries such as this. So, we must take care of them. So, the DTI is really committed to make sure that we have an all-government approach, all secretaries. I’m sure you’ve witnessed that. All secretaries will really bond together to make sure that we get things done.
We cannot do this alone. We must work together. Remember, alone we can do so little, but together we can do a lot. And, definitely, we are stronger together.
Congratulations to everyone. Let this partnership be a beacon for a better Philippines. Thank you once again and good morning. ♦
