On June 30, 2016, Mr. Gerome R. Rogel and Ms. Vivian Gay W. Navarette, DTI Nueva Vizcaya Technical Staff in partnership with Overseas Workers Welfare Administration Represented by Ms. Almira Pattugalan conducted a Business Orientation, Counseling, and Business Plan Preparation to some distressed Overseas Filipino Workers at the Negosyo Center Training Room of DTI – Nueva Vizcaya Provincial Office.

Among the topics discussed were: (1) Entrepreneurship; (2) Business Plan Preparation for Sari- Sari Store and Piggery; and (3) Different Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) Programs. 

The activity aims to educate the participants on how to start their own business and to boost their confidence by presenting business opportunities in the country.

Ms. Vivian Gay Navarette of DTI-Nueva Vizcaya discussed the basics of entrepreneurship including its characteristics, risks and rewards. On the other hand, Mr. Gerome Rogel presented the sample business plan of piggery and sari- sari store business. Mr. Rogel further explained the importance of financial management skills to keep track on the status of the business.

After the seminar, the participants signified their interest in establishing their own business by preparing their own business plan.
