Philippine National Trade Repository (PNTR)

The Philippine National Trade Repository (PNTR) is a web-based portal that provides a single source of comprehensive, accurate, and up-to-date information on all trade-related matters, such as importing and exporting, among others.

The Department of Trade and Industry, through its Bureau of Import Services (DTI-BIS), acts as the PNTR Secretariat Head. The bureau expects the PNTR to be a significant component of the government’s trade facilitation strategy. It is doing so in the belief that a more transparent trade environment will give businesses improved access to information, which in turn supports ease of compliance with the prescribed regulations. Hence, the time and costs incurred in trade transactions will significantly be reduced, which is the ultimate goal of this endeavor.

In addition, the PNTR was established as a commitment of the Country under the ASEAN Trade in Goods Agreement (ATIGA). Under this agreement, each ASEAN member state is expected to come up with respective trade repositories linking to the ASEAN Trade Repository (ATR). In a similar matter, its establishment is in response to the Philippine’s obligation under the WTO Agreement on Trade Facilitation (WTO-ATF) to promptly publish and make readily available trade-related information.

The Ad-Hoc Technical Working Group on PNTR (TWG-PNTR) under the Committee on ASEAN Economic Community (CAEC) is composed of 50 Trade Regulatory Government Agencies (TRGAs) and Trade Policy Related Agencies that have actively contributed trade-related information for the portal.

For inquiries, you may email the PNTR Secretariat through bis_pntr@dti.gov.ph.
