On the Forum on Trade & Investment Opportunities in the Philippines, co-organized by the Trade Office, Philippine Consulate General-Toronto and the Canadian Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines held on October 23, 2017, at the Ontario Investment and Trade Centre, the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between Toon City Academy and Seneca College was signed. The MOU confirms the cooperation between the two institutions which seeks to widen the career opportunities of animators and create possibilities for professional exchange of staff expertise.

The Philippine Department of Trade and Industry is pleased to announce the assignment of Ms. Maria Roseni M. Alvero as Senior Trade Commissioner to Canada.

Ms. Alvero brings a wealth of knowledge, experience and integrity to this position. She has more than thirty years in the service of the Philippine Government, serving in various capacities in the Department of Trade and Industry in the fields of economic research, industry and trade policy, export marketing and investment promotion, and bilateral and multilateral government to government relations.

In pursuance to the commitment of the Philippines to deepen its economic relations with Canada, Senior Trade Commissioner Alvero is spearheading the re-opening of the Philippine Trade and Investment Centre (PTIC) – Toronto. Read more

Eight (8) Canadian companies were set to visit the Philippines to attend the 11th edition of the International Food and Exhibit (IFEX) Philippines organized by Department of Trade and Industry’s (DTI) Center for International Trade Exhibition and Missions (CITEM) on May 19 to 21, 2017 at the World Trade Center and Philippine Trade Training Center in Pasay City.

Coined as the 1st Canadian Food Buying Mission to the Philippines, the mission is organized by the newly opened Trade Section of the Philippine Consulate General in Toronto, the representative office of the Philippine Department of Trade and Industry in Canada. Read more

As part of the Philippine Department of Trade and Industry (DTI)’s trade and investment outreach, a Breakfast Forum entitled “Trade and Investment Opportunities in the Philippines” will be held at the Pinnacle Hotel in Vancouver, British Columbia on July 26, 2017. The Event is made possible with the cooperation of the Philippine Consulate General in Vancouver.

The program will be opened by Philippine Consul General to Vancouver Neil Frank Ferrer and will be keynoted by Ambassador Petronila P. Garcia, Philippine Ambassador to Canada. Special guests from various Canadian sectors led by Aquilini Renewable Energy Ltd. and Corinthian Distributors Ltd. will share their experience in doing business in the Philippines. Senior Trade Commissioner Maria Roseni M. Alvero will deliver the presentation in behalf of the DTI. The Forum will also present an opportunity for one-on-one meetings for the attendees. Read more
