Doha, Qatar — On 14 May 2024, Department of Trade and Industry Secretary Fred Pascual represented the Philippines at the 4th Qatar Economic Forum (QEF) to discuss and promote the Philippines' initiatives to global stakeholders. With the theme "A World Remade: Navigating the Year of Uncertainty," the QEF brings together leaders from across the world to address critical issues that shape the international business landscape.

The DTI chief is set to discuss the Philippines’ ongoing efforts to create a robust business environment, emphasizing the country's commitment to sustainable growth and economic resilience. He will also engage in high-level discussions with Qatari officials to explore opportunities for strengthening bilateral economic ties and attracting investments to the Philippines.

Additionally, the QEF provides a valuable platform for the Philippines to showcase its potential as a premier investment destination in Southeast Asia while facilitating discussions toward stronger economic partnerships with key players in the Gulf region. It also aims to foster dialogue and collaboration to explore the Gulf’s strategic standing as the world navigates global complexities and uncertainties.
