Non-executive Director of Quorn Foods and Monde Nissin Vijay Thakrar on what drives and boosts UK companies in the ASEAN region.

“One of the big benefits of, again, partnering with Monde Nissin was that it’s headquartered in the Philippines, so it’s already in ASEAN. The 650 million people that are already there – rising middle class – that was an attractive proposition for us. And what we’ve done is that, since the partnership with Monde Nissin began, we started selling Quorn and indeed some of our other business products from elsewhere in the group in the Philippines. “

Mr. Thakrar was one of the speakers during the ASEAN@50 Business Forum on 11 October 2017. Please find more videos from the event here.

Invest in the Philippines
Startup founders and investors talk about why it’s a good time to invest, and grow a business, in the Philippines. The country is in a demographic sweet spot, with a young, connected, tech-savvy population driving the adoption of mobile and internet products and services. Couple that with six years of economic growth above 6% annually, and increasing FDI, the Philippines is an undervalued gem that just might yield quite positive surprises.
