London, United Kingdom – Seven Filipino companies were showcased at the Natural & Organic Products Europe (NOPEX) at ExCeL London from 3 to 4 April 2022. NOPEX is the leading trade show for natural, organic, and sustainable products in the UK and the number one organic event in Europe.

The Philippine participation was organized by the Department of Agriculture (DA), while the Philippine Trade and Investment Centre – London (PTIC-London), provided on the ground support in promoting the participation to buyers in the UK and Ireland, and organizing a visit program to better understand the UK market.  The PH pavilion set up by DA presented a variety of natural and organically-certified products, made from premium agricultural produce from the PH such as coconut, banana, corn, cacao, coffee and ube.  In addition to traditional products such as banana chips, coconut oil, fruit preserves, coffee and tea, and cacao tableas, the PH exporters also showcased new product innovations such as balsamic vinegar and other familiar condiments using coconut as raw material.  Participants also offered opportunities for private label buyers for products such as coconut water and other coconut-derived products, canned tuna and processed fruits.

The seven agribusiness companies featured were Businesspeople Inc, Fruits of Life Inc, Ilocos Food Products, JAMLA Corporation, Pasciolco Agri Ventures, Pearlfoods International, and See’s International Food Manufacturing.

Following the exhibition, the PH delegation visited popular retail stores in London carrying Asian food products and organic products where they learned food and packaging trends and the types of products that make it to the store shelves.  The briefing provided by Planet Organic, the first and largest purely organic store in the UK, provided insights on the requirements of the UK market.  Participants also benefited from direct feedback from the retailers on their samples and where improvements can be made.
