DTI Undersecretary for International Trade Policy Atty. Allan B. Gepty, together with Bureau of International Trade Relations OIC Director Marie Sherylyn D. Aquia, held a Trade Policy Dialogue with stakeholders on 20 December 2023 at the DTI International office in Makati City.



The stakeholders composed of business organizations, industry associations, and civil society organizations (CSOs) were given updates on the country’s trade performance, international trade relations and emerging issues on trade policy, among others.



Undersecretary Gepty emphasized that the trade policy dialogue is a significant forum to give updates to stakeholders and gather insights and concerns necessary in crafting the country’s position in various areas related to trade policy. Thus, he encouraged stakeholders to work closely with the DTI to ensure a conducive trade policy for the country.



“With the evolving and expanding nature of international trade right now, including the various cross-cutting issues such as labor, climate change, and sustainable development; we need closer and regular engagements with stakeholders to get a broader and clearer view of emerging issues and concerns,” said Gepty.
