The Undersecretary for Regional Operations Group (ROG) of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Hon. Zenaida Cuison – Maglaya graced the opening program of the 12th Padday na Lima Regional Trade Fair “Pride of Cagayan Valley” as Guest of Honor. The Trade Fair opened on 20 September 2018 and will run up to the 26th of this month at the Festival Mall in Alabang, Muntinlupa.

 

In her message, Usec. Maglaya expressed delight at seeing more micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) joining the Trade Fair as exhibitors and happily noted so much improvement in their products aside from the fact that there more varied products now on display. She commended DTI Team Region 02 for their unrelenting support to all MSMEs “and for making all these possible,” she said. The Undersecretary also mentioned about the creation of OTOP Philippine Hubs in all regions which will serve as permanent stores for the products of the MSMEs.

 

Usec. Maglaya was joined by Asst. Secretary Demphna Naga who, according to the Undersecretary is doing a lot to help in the improvement of the MSMEs products through the OTOP Next Gen program of the DTI. Asec. Naga is also behind the establishments of the OTOP Philippine Hubs across regions.

 

Regional Director Ruben B. Diciano, in his opening message, thanked the MSME-exhibitors for their interest to join Trade Fairs such as the Padday na Lima Regional Trade Fair and urged them to take advantage of the programs and services of the DTI for them to grow and for their products to become more competitive in the global market.

 

Also present in the opening program are PCCI Region 02 Governor Cloyd Velasco, DTI-NCR Regional Director Noy Blanco and representatives of LGU-Alabang.

 

 

The Padday na Lima RTF features the products of the provinces of Batanes, Cagayan, Isabela, Quirino and Nueva Vizcaya including furniture and handicrafts, processed foods and beverages, fresh fruits and vegetables and garden plants and seedlings.♦
