This is to provide continuous warning to the public to be vigilant and NOT TO BELIEVE NOR BE FOOLED by any unscrupulous marketing ploy (including text promo messages) that purport to be endorsed by the government and/or its officials like Senator Bong Go or some Cabinet officials.
Again, the Government nor its officials DO NOT engage in private commercial transactions and personal promotion campaign or activity and ABHOR any techniques that fraudulently use their good name.
While the DTI enforces the sales promotions provisions of the Consumer Act, it does not particularly endorse, partner nor support them, especially lucky draw games and raffles.
Please do not entertain nor transact with them. You may check and validate the registered sales promotions on the DTI website (www.dti.gov.ph), or email us at ask@dti.gov.ph, or call 1-DTI (384) to ensure their validity.
Relatedly, the public is also reminded again NOT TO BELIEVE CLAIMS THAT CERTAIN ACTIVITIES OR PROJECTS ARE ENDORSED BY THE PRESIDENT OR BY SENATOR BONG GO OR ANY OF THE CABINET OFFICIALS.
The President even reminds the public and even government agencies TO DENY OR DISAPPROVE any request or application that use their names as endorsers.
To stop these text scams, DTI Secretary Ramon Lopez suggests that it is now high time to require the registration of prepaid SIM cards to know the identity of the SIM card holders.

Huwag maniwala o magpaloko sa mga Fake News o mga text scams na nagsasabi na nanalo kayo sa isang contest or raffle, na inendorso ni Senator Bong Go o kahit sinong opisyales ng pamahalaan.
Ang mga gawain na ito ay labag sa batas at hindi kailanman ini-endorso ng kahit sino na opisyales sa gobyerno.
Para maka siguro kung ang isang sales promotion ay totoo at legal, isangguni po ito sa DTI email ask@dti.gov.ph o tawagan ang DTI hotline 1-DTI (384).
BABALA rin sa publiko at sa mga kagawaran ng gobyerno na hindi dapat paniwalaan ang sino mang magsasabi na ang kanilang proyekto or applikasyon ay ini-endorso ni Presidente Duterte o si Senator Bong Go o kahit sinong opisyal ng gabinete ng pamahalaan.
Hindi po gawain at hindi kailanman mapapayagan ng Pangulong Duterte o si Senator Bong Go na mag-endorso ng mga negosyo o proyekto. Dapat HINDI APRUBAHAN AGAD ang proyekto o aplikasyon na mag dadawit sa mga pangalan ng ating mga opisyales.
Para matigil na ang mga ganitong text scams, mungkahi ni DTI Secretary Ramon Lopez na panahon nang magkaroon ng polisiya sa pag-rehistro ng prepaid SIM cards upang makilala kung sino ang gumagamit nito.
