EVENT
The ASEAN + 6 Construction Forum is an industry development platform where construction industry players including large Filipino construction companies, professional construction organizations, investment banks, relevant government agencies, diplomats, and authorities in construction industry, both local and overseas, gather, join, share information and best practices with the end view of generating construction business opportunities for Filipino construction companies.
As the ASEAN becomes a major player in the international community with the establishment of the ASEAN Community 2015 which generated enormous opportunities in the form of a huge market worth over US$2.5 trillion , the Forum is positioned to take advantage of the benefits of the economic integration which includes the vibrant flow of goods, services, investments and skilled labor, and overcoming the challenges brought with it, thus the inclusion of the construction industry players in the ASEAN countries, both from the government and private sector.
With the Philippine Chairmanship of ASEAN 2017 with the theme, “Partnering for Change, Engaging the World”, and the country’s rolling out of long term plans in the construction industry including increase in spending for infrastructure development and market openness, the ASEAN + 6 Construction Forum endeavors to help implement the Master Plan on ASEAN Connectivity (MPAC) 2025 aimed at achieving a seamless and comprehensive connectivity and integration among the ASEAN countries. The Master Plan puts emphasis on the establishment of sustainable infrastructure through the: (i) increase in public and private infrastructure investment in each ASEAN Member State; (ii) significantly enhance the evaluation and sharing of best practices on infrastructure productivity in ASEAN; and (iii) increase the deployment of smart urbanization models across ASEAN.
