F. Event:
Proclamation No. 1098 of 1997 declared October as the Consumer Welfare Month (CWM). The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), through its Consumer Protection Group (CPG) leads the nationwide celebration of the 20th CWM this October 2017, with the theme “Consumer Rights in the Digital Age.”
 
This year’s theme pushes for better digital access, security, understanding, and redress for the Filipino consumers.
 
The DTI-CPG bureaus — Bureau of Philippine Standards (BPS), Consumer Protection and Advocacy Bureau (CPAB), and Fair Trade Enforcement Bureau (FTEB) — have lined up various activities relative to this year’s CWM.
 
To kick off the month-long celebration, are the Opening Ceremony and Consumer Fun Run.
