The Department of Trade and Industry’s Export Marketing Bureau respectfully invites the members of the press to the Signing Ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the DTI-Philippine Accreditation Bureau (DTI-PAB) and the United Arab Emirates-Emirates Authority For Standardization And Metrology (UAE-ESMA) on 19 JULY 2018 (Thursday) from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the 3rd Floor TIPG Boardroom, DTI International Building, Makati City.

UAE-ESMA Director General H. E. Abdulla Abdelqader Al Maeeni, DTI Undersecretaries Ceferino Rodolfo and Nora Terrado, Export Marketing Bureau (EMB) Director Senen M. Perlada, EMB Assistant Director Anthony Rivera, and DTI-PAB Assistant Director Ernani Dionisio, and DTI Foreign Trade Service Officer Eric Elnar will join the said signing.

The signing of the MOU is expected to support the country’s bid to boost Halal exports to UAE. Once the MOU is signed, PAB accredited Halal Certification Bodies are automatically recognized in the UAE. Products certified by these Certification Bodies can enter the UAE market freely which provides a cheaper and easier way for Philippine businesses particularly micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) in entering the UAE market.

For more information about the signing ceremony, please contact Mr. Adi Jul Ah-Mad of DTI Export Marketing Bureau – Halal Section (DTI-EMB) at AlMahdiJulAhmad@dti.gov.ph.
