The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) – Bicol continues to reach and assist micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) throughout the region through its Negosyo Centers, now totaling to 25, after 12 additional centers were launched for the first semester of this year.

The launching of these Negosyo Centers are in line with the Republic Act No. 10644 or the Go Negosyo Act to help micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), promote ease of doing business, facilitate access to grants and other forms of financial assistance, Shared Service Facilities (SSF) and other equipment, and other support for MSMEs through national government agencies (NGAs), ensure management guidance, assistance and improvement of the working conditions of MSMEs, and facilitate a wider market access.

Of the 24 established Negosyo Centers, 7 were established in Camarines Sur, 4 each in Camarines Norte, Sorsogon, and Albay, 3 in Masbate, and 2 in Catanduanes.

DTI-Bicol Regional Director Jocelyn L.B. Blanco said that the presence of the 24 Negosyo Centers in the region will bring in more business opportunities to communities and MSMEs. She also added that it will contribute in the rapid development of various municipalities in the region.

The presence of the Negosyo Center in each municipality and province aims to provide better and more efficient services to MSMEs.

With the Negosyo Centers now serving the Bicolanos, the DTI has assisted close to 5,000 existing and new entrepreneurs.

DTI-Bicol has already established 12 Negosyo Centers in the first half of 2016 after setting a target of 23 Negosyo Centers by end of the year.
