The Board of Investments (BOI) and DTI-Region 3 recently conducted the Small Business Counselors Course 106: Investment Promotion (SBCC 106) Seminar on June 1-2, 2023 to equip representatives from Negosyo Centers and DTI personnel with the necessary skills to effectively promote and facilitate investments.

Participants actively engaged in sessions focused on investment promotion strategies and facilitation techniques. Emphasis was placed on the pivotal role of local government units (LGUs) as the initial point of contact for investors, highlighting the importance of well-trained Negosyo Center and DTI frontliners in creating a business-friendly environment.

During the event, Ms. Brigida Pili, OIC-Director DTI-Region 3, welcomed the BOI delegation led by Director Ernesto C. Delos Reyes, Jr., acknowledging their commitment to promoting a favorable investment climate. Meanwhile, Director Delos Reyes emphasized the participants’ crucial role in driving regional investments and stressed the need for them to possess the necessary skills and knowledge in investment promotion and facilitation to attract potential investors, address their concerns, and position the region as a preferred investment destination.

The training program empowered business counselors with skills in handling investor queries, facilitating registrations, and implementing effective investment promotion and facilitation strategies. The BOI team also provided insights into the agency’s mandate and initiatives to promote investments and improve the ease of doing business. Updates on key government policies, including the Foreign Investments Act, the Retail Trade Liberalization Act, the Public Service Act, the Corporate Recovery and Tax Incentives for Enterprises Act, and the Strategic Investment Priority Plan were also provided.♦
