The Department of Trade and Industry- Construction Industry Authority of the Philippines (DTI-CIAP), in partnership with the Philippine Constructors Association (PCA) is launching the Philippine Construction Industry Roadmap 2020-2030 on March 28, 2019 at the sidelines of PhilConstruct at the ASEAN Convention Center Mabalacat, Pampanga.
Themed “TATAG AT TAPAT 2030”, the roadmap aims to: improve the quality of construction services, consistent with the principles of sustainability; increase the number of globally competitive Philippine players with expanded scope, scale, and specialization of services; equip the whole project cycle with efficient and modern technologies, founded on a culture of integrity, professionalism, and innovation; and, strengthen the institutions so that the other three goals can be achieved. Achieving all these entails being a global partner in building nations.
The Construction Industry Roadmap is a fruit of collaborative efforts of the DTI-CIAP and PCA, with technical assistance from the Research, Education and Institutional Foundation (REID) Inc., and stakeholders from the different sectors of the construction industry. This collaboration ensured a balance and holistic approach in crafting the vision of the industry.
DTI-CIAP and PCA recognize the critical role of the construction industry in the development of the Philippines as it has contributed significantly to the economy. The government’s headstrong program ‘Build! Build! Build!’, opened up opportunities for investors and contractors. ‘TATAG AT TAPAT 2030’ encapsulates the values that the roadmap aims to deliver – strength that manifests in the infrastructures, institutions, and systems, and strength in internal systems that uphold transparency, honesty, and a strong adherence to standards of excellence all toward the Golden Age of Infrastructure. ♦
