In its effort to fulfill the thrust of the Department of Trade and Industry for ease of doing business, the Construction Industry Authority of the Philippines (CIAP) in collaboration with the DTI Regional Operations Group (DTI-ROG), will open its 8th service window in the DTI Regional Office (RO) located in Palo, Leyte to serve the Eastern Visayas region.

The CIAP, as the central authority of the construction industry, will be launching the service window on March 20, 2017 at the Ironwood Hotel, Tacloban City, Leyte. The unveiling will be spearheaded by Atty. Ruth B. Castelo, Undersecretary for CIAP and Cynthia R. Nierras, DTI Regional Director of RO VIII.

The CIAP Window aims to enhance the delivery and access of CIAP services in the DTI Regional Office. Among the services that contractors may avail are prescreening and evaluation of applications for Categories “A” down to “Trade/E” under Contractors Licensing and Registration Program; acceptance of construction contract claims/disputes for arbitration and other pleadings for ongoing arbitration cases before CIAC, logistic support/coordination for hearings/meetings, orientation on mediation for small claims under Contract Dispute Resolution Program; and information dissemination of CMDF online training application and promotion of manpower trainings and seminars under Construction Manpower Development Program.

The CIAP is an attached agency of DTI which accelerates, promotes and regulates the growth of the construction industry.

CIAP has five implementing boards namely; the Philippine Contractors Accreditation Board (PCAB), the Philippine Overseas Construction Board (POCB), the Philippine Domestic Construction Board (PDCB), the Construction Industry Arbitration Commission (CIAC), and the Construction Manpower Development Foundation (CMDF).
