The Bureau of Domestic Trade Promotion (BDTP) of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) in coordination with the DTI-Bataan put up a Bagsakan to support Bataan mango growers last April 15, 2020 at the DTI Head Office parking area in Makati City.

DTI-ROG putting up Bagsakan to help mango growers

The one-day Bagsakan sold out 4.18 tons of Bataan kalabaw mangoes. The event was marketed online and orders from the public were taken before the event. It was the second installment after the success of the first BDTP Bagsakan to support Guimaras mango growers that sold out almost 3 tons of Guimaras mangoes following the postponement of the National Food Fair (NFF) last 12 March 2020 due to Proclamation No. 922.

The BDTP continues to support Filipino MSMEs and the government in adherence to the “Bayanihan to Heal as One Act” and relevant issuances that ensure the availability of goods, particularly food and medicine. Through the BDTP Bagsakan project and social media accounts more MSMEs, local farmers and fruit growers will showcase their products.

The next Bagsakan will be held on Monday, 27 April at the DTI Head Office. On sale will be Bataan mangoes, Bulacan organic rice, shrimp bagoong, taba ng talangka, cashew nuts and uraro cookies.♦
