The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) recently conducted its third staging of the Consumer Fun Run on 29 September 2019 at the Quirino Grandstand. The said activity officially commences the celebration of this year’s Consumer Welfare Month (CWM).

The DTI and its regional and provincial offices have lined-up activities for the month such as the Short Film Competition, Consumer Quiz Bee, Diskwento and Certified Products Caravan, and National Consumer Congress, among others.

With the theme, “Sustainable Consumption: Understanding the Impact of Consumers’ Choices in a Shared Environment,” the DTI aims to raise the awareness on sustainable, responsible, and ethical consumption, and the impacts of our choices to the environment and society.

Pursuant to Proclamation No. 1908 of 1997, October of every year is declared as the Consumer Welfare Month.
