The Women’s Economic Empowerment Project or GREAT Women 2 Project (GW2P) conducted the Green Gender Responsive Value Chain Analysis (GGRVCA) Training on July 27-29, 2016 at Villa Blanca Hotel, Tuguegarao City, Cagayan.
The event was spearheaded by OIC PD Ma. Sofia Narag, the GW2P Regional Focal Person and participated in by some Women Micro-entrepreneurs (WMEs) from the non- food sector in the Region and other focal persons from partner agencies such as DA, DOST, PCW and DTI.
The GREAT Women 2 Project aimed at increasing the ability of individuals, organizations, and institutions to perform their functions, fulfill their mandates and achieve their goals by integrating green, gender and women’s economic empowerment perspective in their inputs, strategies, processes, and systems.
The Training envisioned to increase awareness and broaden understanding of participants on basic gender and development concepts, basic gender and analysis tools to enable participants to effectively facilitate the conduct of GGRVCA in the region.
This also aims to integrate environmental considerations into the GGRVCA process to be familiarized on its conduct at the enterprise level and to come up with the initial action plans to improve the performance of targeted women’s enterprises.
Business Development Trainer, Mr. Medardo Noscal served as the resource person and discussed the following topics 1.) Gender and Development Concepts and Women’s Economic Empowerment, 2.) Greening the GGRVCA, and 3.) Actual GGRVCA Process and Facilitating a Green GGRVC Project. These conceptualized modules ensured an integrated training and process.
Ms. Narag said, “I would like to encourage the WME’s to be the initiators of change for their respective businesses and the GW2P will be there to provide necessary assistance in your entrepreneurial endeavors.”
Participants expressed their delight for the very satisfying and effective GGRVCA Training.
