Spearheaded by OIC Provincial Director Ma. Sofia G. Narag, DTI Quirino completes the 2nd component of the “Kalinga sa mga Katutubo ng Nagtipunan Project” in Nagtipunan, a far flung municipality of Quirino Province on July 5, 2016.
With the theme “Serbisyong DTI, Serbisyong Higit pa sa Inaasahan – Kahit Saan, Kahit Kailan, Maging Sino Ka Man”, the project aims to strengthen DTI’s bond with the community especially with the indigenous and marginalized sectors in the province. The project has four (4) components that will be conducted on a quarterly namely:  1.) giving and sharing of food, 2.) Balik Eskwela Project, 3.) Provision of recreational facilities/items, and 4.) Year-end Bonanza (sharing of groceries, medicines and other necessities).
The first two components were conducted on March 22, 2016 and July 5, 2016 respectively.
In the recently conducted component, the Balik Eskwela Project, DTI Quirino partnered with LGU Nagtipunan, TV-5 Alagang Kapatid Foundation, Meralco One Foundation, National Bookstore Foundation, Grolier, Delos Santos Medical Center and Maynilad who donated school supplies, kitchen utensils, such as plates, spoons and forks, bowls and glasses, water containers and pails for every classroom.  The project benefited 219 school children and (9) teachers of Dissimungal Integrated School in Sitio Dioryong, Brgy. Dissimungal. 

Together with DTI Quirino staff, the activity was attended by Hon. Mayor Nieverose C. Meneses, barangay officials headed by Brgy. Capt. Ruben Pugong, the school teachers headed by Teacher-in-Charge Mr. Roquito Panit and TV5 Alagang Kapatid Foundation representatives headed by Ms. Menchie Silvestre, Executive Director.

The school’s drum and lyre corps composed of indigenous school children such as Agtas, Ifugaos and Bugkalots welcomed the team with an exhibition.
Cultural presentations depicting the culture of the indigenous people in Nagtipunan, Quirino were presented to express gratitude to the benefactors of the activity. 
The Alagang Kapatid Foundation prepared parlor games to add more fun to the activity and they gave away lots of prizes to the winners.
Prior to the activity, DTI OIC PD Ma. Sofia G. Narag and SVTIDS Lenore Lee S. Lopez together with TV-5 Alagang Kapatid Foundation made a courtesy visit to the newly elected Mayor of Nagtipunan, Hon. Nieverose C. Meneses.

The mayor assigned a tourist guide to the group who facilitated the visit to some of the tourist destinations in Nagtipunan.

The Kalinga sa Katutubo ng Nagtipunan Project is one of the organizational activities organized by DTI Quirino to enhance teamwork and camaraderie among DTI Quirino Family and to promote a more healthy working relationship among themselves and with the community through engagement to a meaningful activity.

After the activity, DTI Quirino toured TV-5 to the different DTI and LGU assisted projects in the area namely: the softbroom making project in Barangay Dissimungal, the veggie noodles and veggie chips production center in Barangay Dipantan, the Bugkalot costume and accessories production center in Barangay Ponngo and the woodcraft and souvenir items making project, also in Barangay Ponggo.
