Micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) affected by the enhanced community quarantine will promote and sell their products in the NCR through the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) – Bagsakan Project and Go Lokal!

Lockdown Sale on 29 May, 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM at the DTI Head Office in Makati City. Through these initiatives, the DTIBureau of Domestic Trade Promotion (BDTP) aims to help distressed MSMEs survive amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Led by the DTI-BDTP in coordination with DTI-Region 3, DTI-Region 4A, and their Provincial Offices, the upcoming Bagsakan will assist MSMEs from Bataan, Bulacan, Pampanga, Laguna, Quezon and Camarines Sur to promote their products and generate income to sustain their operations while under the COVID-19 crisis. The MSMEs will bring preordered items closer to consumers in NCR for pick up while observing social distancing. On sale will be sugpo, alimango, dried fish products, kalabaw and indian mangoes, fresh vegetables, a rich selection of Filipino delicacies such as
longganiza, baked noodles, coconut products, seafood cracklings, mushroom crisps, healthy chips, cashew products, peanuts, araro cookies, bagoong, crab paste, organic rice, turmeric brews, pickled vegetables, healthy snacks, honey, condiments, essential oils, leather with tikog masks, and more. Payment options are available including PayMaya and GCASH for consumers’ convenience.

During its recent 7th and 8th Bagsakan, the DTI-BDTP helped Guimaras Mango Growers, a women’s cooperative from Pampanga, and MSMEs from Bataan, Bulacan, Pangasinan, Laguna, and Camarines Sur. They sold out 633 kgs of Guimaras mangoes, 450 kgs of watermelon, 25 trays of eggs, fresh vegetables and fruits, milkfish and other fish products, organic rice, chicharon, various Filipino delicacies and leather straps for face masks. The events were marketed online and orders from consumers were taken before the event.

The Bagsakan project is aimed at ensuring the availability of goods especially food supplies for the public during the period of enhanced community quarantine in adherence to the “Bayanihan to Heal as One Act”. Through the project and social media accounts, more MSMEs, local farmers and fruit growers can showcase their products and reach more consumers and buyers during the COVID-19 crisis. Since the DTI-BDTP’s Bagsakan started in March, the project has generated over P2M cumulative sales helping fruit growers and farmers from Guimaras, Bataan, Zambales, as
well as MSMEs of Bataan, Bulacan, Camarines Sur, Laguna, Pampanga, Pangasinan, and Tarlac.

Likewise, the DTI Go Lokal! Lockdown Sale is aimed at promoting quality Filipino food favorites while helping MSMEs generate sales for their operations amid the COVID-19 pandemic. On sale will be a variety Filipino delicacies including premium food products at a discounted price. The participating MSMEs are Aretei, Auro Chocolate, Benguet Gold Coffee,
Chrisco, Clayton West Banana Chief, EFG Mixed Nuts and Fruits, Fabacco, JNRM Instayum Cheese, Just Fruit, Mama Sita’s, Mancoco, NutraRich, Oh So Healthy, Pan Plaza, Project Beans, and Stips.
