The Department of Trade and Industry’s Bureau of Philippine Standards (DTI-BPS) adopts the following International Organization for Standardization (ISO) standards on security and resilience as Philippine National Standards (PNS), to help businesses and communities during the Corona Virus Disease (COVID-19) crisis:

PNS ISO 22320:2020 Security and resilience – Emergency management – Guidelines for incident management
PNS ISO 22326:2020 Security and resilience – Emergency management – Guidelines for monitoring facilities with identified hazards
PNS ISO 22327:2020 Security and resilience – Emergency management – Guidelines for implementation of a community-based landslide early warning system
PNS ISO/TS 22331:2020 Security and resilience – Business continuity management systems – Guidelines for business continuity strategy

PNS ISO/TS 22375:2020 Security and resilience – Guidelines for complexity assessment process
PNS ISO 22380:2020 Security and resilience – Authenticity, integrity and trust for products and documents – General principles for product fraud risk and countermeasures
PNS ISO 22381:2020 Security and resilience – Authenticity, integrity and trust for products and documents – Guidelines for establishing interoperability among object identification systems to deter counterfeiting and illicit trade

PNS ISO 22395:2020 Security and resilience – Community resilience – Guidelines for supporting vulnerable persons in an emergency
PNS ISO 22396:2020 Security and resilience – Community resilience – Guidelines for information exchange between organizations
Due to the COVID-19 crisis, businesses were forced to temporarily close and communities were placed in strict quarantine to prevent the spread of the virus. These newly adopted standards can help the society adapt to the current crisis or prepare for the possible similar scenarios in the future. These standards specify guidelines in the field of security to enhance the safety and resilience of society. These standards will help communities and businesses in managing dangers or threats and adapt in a changing environment. In general, these standards are for emergency management, urban and community resilience, and business continuity management systems.
When implemented, these standards will contribute to the following United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDG):
The DTI-BPS is the National Standards Body of the Philippines. It is the country’s member to the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC).
