• CITEM’s virtual booth at AIFFS hosts 10 Philippine brands which embody the country’s rich tradition of artisanship and craftsmanship
  • All 10 brands are also housed in FAME+, the newest digital trade and community platform

Philippine artisanal prowess takes the centerstage at the first-ever ASEAN International Furniture & Furnishings Show VX 2021 (AIFFS VX) through 10 Philippine brands brought in by the Center for International Trade Expositions and Missions (CITEM).

The 10 brands–Acento Colleccions, E. Murio, Enpekei International, Goltrio, Junk Not, La Galuche, Mejore, Obra Cebuana, Prizmic & Brill, and Stonesets International–are now live at www.aiffsvx.com from 9-12 March. Exhibitor catalogues are live on the site until 13-18 March.

Through the virtual booth at AIFFS, buyers and visitors can directly chat, leave a message, request for meetup, and make video call requests, which FAME+ representatives will forward to the exhibitors.

CITEM Executive Director Pauline Suaco-Juan noted the importance of not only having and maintaining an online presence, but also of being amply equipped with the capacities and the content necessary to capture a discerning audience.

“Brands have a few seconds–essentially the flick of a finger–to get the attention of an audience, especially an online one. As such, arresting photos are a must,” she added.

To better tell the stories of Philippine craftsmanship through the brands’ distinct pieces, CITEM gathered the collective for a themed catalogue, aptly titled “Nature-Inspired and Timeless Elegance.” The global audience of AIFFS will be treated to a preview of pieces from home decor and lighting to furniture and furnishings made from local materials such as rattan, bamboo, and capiz, among others.

Spotlighted in the narrative of Philippine design is the mastery of indigenous materials, through the creations of E. Murio, Enpekei International, Goltrio, La Galuche, Obra Cebuana, and Stonesets International.

Enriching the same narrative but with a push towards sustainability is reflected in the works of Acento Colleccions and Junk Not. Meanwhile, Mejore and Prizmic & Brill also add the characteristically Filipino traits of resilience and adaptability with their extensive experience in designing versatile pieces.

All 10 brands hosted in the CITEM virtual booth for AIFFS are also housed in the FAME+ platform.

Launched on October 2020, FAME+ is CITEM’s response to the evolving and rapidly digitizing demands of trade and export. The digital trade platform improves the searchability and discoverability of its over 200 exhibitors from the home, fashion, and lifestyle (HFL) sectors to buyers and design enthusiasts across the globe.

Organized by the ASEAN Furniture Industries Council (AFIC), the first-ever and fully digital AIFFS is hosted by the Chamber of Furniture Industries of the Philippines, Inc. (CFIP) features brands from eight ASEAN countries: the Philippines, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam. The virtual furniture show  also welcomes furniture companies from Australia and the United States. ♦
