The Philippine Trade and Investment Center (PTIC-Taipei), in partnership with the Department of Trade and Industry – Export Marketing Bureau (DTI-EMB), and in collaboration with the Healthcare Information Management Association of the Philippines (HIMAP) and the Manila Economic and Cultural Office (MECO), participated in the BIO ASIA TAIWAN 2022 on 28-31 July 2022 at the Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center, Taipei, Taiwan.
Aside from participating in the exhibit, the Philippine delegates met with industry leaders and decision-makers in Taiwan. They discussed the latest market trends and opportunities, business models and practices, and explored trade leads and possible business partnerships.
The Philippine HIMS sector is identified as one of the priority clusters of DTI Secretary Alfredo E. Pascual under health and life sciences. The PH HIMS revenue is projected to grow by 7.3 – 10.0% or USD 5 billion in 2022.
“The Philippines is known globally as a significant source for quality and innovative healthcare-related services; this is a great opportunity to promote our bio and healthcare-related capabilities to the major players in the Asian healthcare value chain. We look forward to developing engagements with the Taiwan market as it connects to other global markets engaged in HIMS,” PTIC-Taipei Director for Commercial Affairs Anthony B. Rivera said.
HIMAP, represented by Pointwest Innovation Corp. and Pi Health Inc – PiVOT CRO, featured curated healthcare solutions and services such as clinical trial management for drugs and medical devices, revenue cycle management, end-to-end pharmacovigilance services, clinical data management, cloud migration, and robotic process automation services among others as required by global pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and contract research companies.
“We aim to be the top of mind destination for integrated services for IT-BPM, including in the healthcare segment. Our IT-BPM sector is expanding to life sciences, robotics, big data, etc. to support a proactive and world-class end-to-end customer service experience. Philippine service providers showcase an innate culture of care that complements its strong human resource capabilities and we aim to venture into new markets starting with Taiwan,” DTI-EMB Director Christopher Lawrence S. Arnuco said.
“We hope to aggressively showcase and promote the competencies of our HIMS sector and establish a global presence through this mission,” DTI-EMB Assistant Director Jhino B. Ilano added.
