The Philippine Trade Training Center – Global MSME Academy (PTTC-GMEA) is thrilled to announce the upcoming Fourth Industrial Revolution (FIRe) Skills Week Celebration, scheduled on June 29-30, 2023. The event will be held at the PTTC-GMEA Office in Pasay City for on-site participants, while virtual participants can join via Zoom and tune in live through PTTC-GMEA’s Facebook page.

Under the theme “BLAZE the Trail towards a Skilled and Empowered Filipino Workforce,” this momentous celebration aims to highlight the priorities of the Philippine Skills Framework in building a highly skilled and empowered workforce. The event serves as a call to action for all stakeholders in skills development to unite and work together towards achieving these priorities, forging a brighter future for Filipino workers and the nation as a whole.

The BLAZE agenda of the Philippine Skills Framework encompasses the following key priorities:

Build skills excellence: The Philippine Skills Framework emphasizes the importance of equipping Filipino workers with the highest level of knowledge, skills, and competencies. Through effective training programs and continuous learning opportunities, the framework ensures that workers are prepared to excel in their respective fields.

Leverage innovation: Embracing innovation is crucial in skills development. The Philippine Skills Framework encourages the adoption of new approaches, technologies, and methodologies to enhance training methods. This includes leveraging online and mobile learning platforms, gamification, and virtual and augmented reality.

Advance workforce readiness: In anticipation of the future of work, the Philippine Skills Framework focuses on preparing the workforce to adapt to changing demands. By equipping workers with the necessary skills and knowledge, the framework ensures their readiness to thrive in new technologies, emerging industries, and evolving labor market conditions.

Zero in on inclusive growth: The Philippine Skills Framework prioritizes accessibility and inclusivity in skills development. It aims to create equal opportunities for all Filipinos, irrespective of their socio-economic status or geographic location. By promoting equity in skills training and fostering pathways to employment and entrepreneurship, the framework enables marginalized groups to partake in the country’s growth.
Empower Filipino talent: Recognizing the immense potential of Philippine talent, the Philippine Skills Framework seeks to nurture and empower individuals to drive innovation, productivity, and competitiveness. By creating opportunities for Filipinos to contribute to the nation’s economic growth, the framework unleashes their unique skills and talents. PTTC-GMEA Executive Director, Nelly Nita N. Dillera, expressed her excitement for the upcoming celebration, stating, “The Philippine Skills Framework Celebration marks a significant milestone in our journey towards a skilled and empowered Filipino workforce. We are committed to collaborating with all stakeholders to blaze a new trail in skills excellence, innovation, workforce readiness, inclusive growth, and empowerment. Together, we will create a brighter future for our workers and a more future-ready Philippines.” The Philippine Skills Framework is an essential initiative implemented by the Philippine government to enhance the country’s workforce development and promote a globally competitive labor market. This framework serves as a comprehensive guide for individuals, educational institutions, and industries to align their skills development efforts with the demands of the rapidly evolving job market. Spearheading this initiative are the Department of Trade and Industry, Department of Information and Communications Technology, Department of Education, Commission on Higher Education, Technical Education and Skills Development Authority, Department of Labor and Employment, Professional Regulation Commission, Department of Science and Technology, and Department of Tourism.  The Philippine Skills Framework – Roll-Out and Adoption Program or PSF Road, meanwhile, partnered with Game Developers Association of the Philippines (GDAP), Rizal Technological University, and Saint Paul University Manila. More partnerships and collaborations will follow soon.  This remarkable event will be filled with insightful discussions and engaging presentations that will propel the nation towards a more skilled and empowered future.
