The Local Price Coordinating Council (LPCC) of Iligan City is set to launch its Electronic Price Billboard (EPB) on March 31, 2017 at the Central Public Market in Barangay Poblacion.

Iligan City Mayor Celso G. Regencia will lead the ceremonial switching on of Electronic Price Billboard to be accompanied by local officials of the Sanggunian Panglungsod and Department of Trade and Industry – Lanao del Norte Provincial Director Ruel B. Paclipan.

With the installation of the Electronic Price Billboard, the buying public will be able to check prevailing prices of basic necessities and prime commodities under the jurisdiction of DTI, Department of Agriculture (DA), Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), and Department of Energy (DOE).

In reference to the Price Act, basic necessities include canned sardines, processed milk, fresh milk, bread, instant noodles, bottled water, coffee, detergents/laundry soap, rice, corn, fish, pork and beef meat, egg, sugar, cooking oil, vegetables, root crops, kerosene, and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG).

Prime commodities are comprised of flour, processed and canned pork/beef, condiments, toilet soap, batteries, cement and other construction materials, fruits, spices, and dairy products.

Prevailing prices of other petroleum products like diesel and gasoline will also be reflected in the EPB.

The utilization of Electronic Price Billboard as buying guide for consumers is the first in the Iligan City and Lanao del Norte.
