Around 1,000 potential and start-up entrepreneurs were assisted by the Kapatid Mentor ME (KMME) program launching in four of Region 10’s provinces – Bukidnon, Camiguin, Lanao del Norte and Misamis Occidental – last March 24, 27, April 5 and 6, respectively to help scale up businesses of micro entrepreneurs.
The launching and the modules under the Mentor ME Phase 1 were fused into a day-long activity done per province.
Bukidnon and Camiguin recorded a close count of participants with 249 and 253 individuals gathering at Loiza’s Pavillion in Malaybalay City, Bukidnon and the Convention Center in Mambajao, Camiguin, respectively.
Individuals who participated during the program in Plaza Alemania, Iligan City reached 263 while in Ozamiz City, 219 participants joined the program in Bethany Gardens, Ozamiz City.
Potential and start-up micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) who came from different municipalities had the privilege of learning the programs and services under the Philippine Center of Entrepreneurship (PCE) – Go Negosyo through its team leader Jeah La Guardia and selected speakers Armand Bengco, Victor Madlangbayan and Henry Tenedero.
Armand Bengco is both the Executive Director of Colayco Foundation for Education, Incorporated and the General Manager of KsK Coop. While these titles are already a handful, Bengco also appears in financial-literacy-focused television programs aired in GMA News TV and Light Network. He constantly receives local and international speaking engagement invitations.
Victor Madlangbayan, on the other hand, has a rich record of diverse experiences which allowed him to learn the ropes of entrepreneurship – from being a street smart who almost tried all kinds of jobs into being a bonafide corporate professional after he earned a degree in Agribusiness Management from the University of the Philippines – Los Baños.
Henry Tenedero, on the other hand, is currently the prime mover of the global education advocacy dubbed as “Beyond Curriculum: Lead, Teach and Learn”. To date, Tenedero has already written eight books which focus on Multiple Intelligences.
KMME is just one of the programs operated through the combined efforts of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and the PCE – Go Negosyo. The primary goal of the program is to scale up their businesses. The program is done through weekly coaching and mentoring by business owners and practitioners who have already made a name in their respective industries.
The province of Misamis Oriental, having the largest number of MSMEs assisted and established in the region, will conduct two Mentor ME launching by June and by September this year.
