The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Quirino Provincial Office organized a six-day Shared Service Facilities (SSF) Product Showcase at the Capitol Grounds, Cabarroguis, Quirino during the Panagdadapun Festival on September 5-10, 2016.
The activity coincided with the celebration of the 45th Founding anniversary of the Province and featured different products produced through the Shared Service Facilities that were provided to project- co-operators.
The event provided an avenue for the SSF beneficiaries to promote their products and for the Quirinians to know more about the SSF Project of DTI and the various products produced through SSF.
Among products sold and displayed include the famous fossilized flowers, veggie ice cream, ginger tea, muscovado sugar, fruit wine and vinegar, coffee, and other preserved food products, tilanggit, bayong, wood crafts and Bugkalot costumes and accessories.
Participating MSMEs were Maddela Fossilized Flowers and Crafts, Quirino GHD Producers Association, Sto. Niño Integrated Agro-Forestry Association, MASREDECA, Balligui Farmers Association, Diffun Farmers Association, Rizal RIC, Quirino Young Entrepreneurs Association, Ponggo Women in Development and Cofcaville Upland Farmers Association.
Meanwhile, one (1) unit of Duck Egg Balot Incubator was awarded to Sangbay Upper Basin Ecological Farmers Organization of Brgy. Sangbay, Nagtipunan, Quirino during the opening of the Agro-OTOP Trade Fair and Exhibits.
The facility has a capacity of 5,000 pieces eggs which can be developed into “balut” in one cycle which is 19 days.
During the turn-over ceremony, Mr. Casimiro A. Banagan Jr., president of the organization, gave his commitment and assurance that they will ensure proper management and maximum utilization of the facility to meet the objective of the project which is to increase productivity and competitiveness of the beneficiaries.
The DTI and the LGU will conduct regular monitoring to ensure sustainability of the project and to address issues and concerns that may arise from its operations.
