The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Cagayan Provincial Office and the City Government of Tuguegarao through the Technology and Livelihood Development Office (TLDO) conducted another round of product development seminar with one-on-one consultation to 17 MSMEs of Tuguegarao City on February 6, 2018 at the TLDO Training Center, Mall of the Valley, Tuguegarao City, Cagayan.

Aimed at refining and redefining the labels and products of the MSMEs, Mr. Cesar Crisostomo, owner of Ritepak Packaging Solutions and a successful entrepreneur, sat with them and discussed the gaps and needs of the products they need to address.

“Under the BuB projects of DTI and the City Government, we will provide a solution to the needs identified during the consultation,” said Mr. Mario Eugenio, TLDO Chief.

As an offshoot of the activity, 17 labels have been finalized. The initial cost of the printing shall be borne by the City Government under DTI-BuB 2016 fund.

“Before I joined this seminar, my gourmet tuyo business is not my top priority. I manage a coffee shop, and I also have other lines of business. But after my consultation with Sir Cesar (Crisostomo) and Maám Liza (Guzman) of DTI, I am now more interested in pursuing it. In fact, I also would like to be enrolled under the Kapatid Mentor ME to capacitate me in pursuing my business,” says Ms. Marmee Carag-Vela, owner of Z-Bros Native Food Products and one of the participants.

In addition to the printing of labels, the MSME-beneficiaries shall also be given packaging assistance under the DTI-BuB 2016 projects of Tuguegarao City.♦
