The Department of Trade and Industry- Nueva Vizcaya (DTI- NV) through the Negosyo Center in Solano conducted a two (2) day Product Development (ProDev) activity for the members of the Solano Women’s Club and for on February 2-3, 2017 at the LGU Municipal Hall, Solano, Nueva Vizcaya.

The activity aims to assess the preparedness of the existing products of the organizations for the establishment of the Municipal Pasalubong Center of Solano and to provide ideas in identifying new products that can be introduced in the “One Barangay, One Product” project of the municipality.

Other representatives from the twenty-two (22) barangays of Solano, Nueva Vizcaya also participated in the activity. DTI Nueva Vizcaya OIC Provincial Director Henry O. Conel, Jr. together with Ms. Mariza M. Dolor, MTIO and Ms. Keren Joy P. Marigondon, NC Coordinator supervised the activity.

DTI- Region 02 in-house designers, Mr. Renmark Marcelo and Mr. Richard Siuagan were also present and served as the resource speakers and product evaluators for the activity.

Ms. Regie Valino Valdez, Municipal Counselor, gave the opening remarks and welcomed the participants, organizers and the evaluators in behalf of Honorable Mayor Eufemia A. Dacayo.

Mr. Marcelo gave a brief background on Product Development including its importance and use in market development before the actual one-on-one critiquing

and evaluation of products. Information campaign on the Negosyo Center program was also incorporated in the discussion of the topics.

The consultation activity inspired and encouraged the participants to develop their products not only in terms of product packaging and labelling but also in its standardization. It also intensified the promotion of the Negosyo Center programs to the participants.

OIC PD Conel, Jr. assured the different organizations of the full support coming from DTI- NV for their succeeding activities through Ms. Dolor and Ms. Marigondon.
