On 16 January 2017, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Nueva Vizcaya attended the consultative meeting of the LGU Bayombong for the effective implementation of Bottom-up Budgeting (BuB) Projects for 2016 in Mayor’s Office, LGU Municipal Hall, Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya.

 

The meeting aims to identify the primary products to be developed and equipment to be purchased for the centralized production/ processing center of LGU Bayombong.

 

Mr. Andy De Guzman, the LGU Livelihood Project Coordinator, discussed the project overview which includes his personal visit in some successful shared service facilities in Isabela and Cagayan for food processing.

 

Mr. De Guzman also presented the different equipment needed in the establishment of the centralized production center.


In addition, he also introduced the LGU Bayombong “PANALO KA” program of Honorable Mayor Ralph C. Lantion which means “Pangkabuhayan Aralin Natin Alagaan ng Lumawak Oras-oras KA- Bayombong”.

 

This program is the main plan of the LGU in the implementation of the BuB Projects which includes not only the establishment of centralize production center but also the production plan and marketing plan for the beneficiaries.

 

The members of the meeting agreed to produce the following as the main products to be developed, namely: processed meat, taro chips, veggie noodles, fruit juice and soy bean products.


The members also agreed to conduct a site visit to the different associations and cooperatives that were identified to be the beneficiaries of the BuB projects.

 

In attendance were the different Local Regional Poverty Reduction Action Team (LPRAT) members namely: DILG, Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), Municipal Health Officer (MHO), Municipal Accountant, and Budget Officer. Ms. Mariza M. Dolor, STIDS and the MTIO of Bayombong and Ms. Flomilyn B. Dela Cruz, Technical Assistant, represented the Department of Trade and Industry- Nueva Vizcaya.
