Actual demonstration by the trainer, Mr. Marcos Baculpo (in white shirt) on how to set-up and operate the portable milking machine.

Mr. Baculpo demonstrated how to properly set-up the machine for efficient and safe utilization. He discussed the general procedures in using the machine as well as emphasized proper care and maintenance to prolong its durability.  The portable milking machine was designed for rapid and efficient extraction of milk without damage to the gland of the buffalo and with minimal risk of transmitting pathogenic microorganisms.

A total of 18 participants composed of the officers and members of QSU Dairy Farm Cooperative, QSU agriculture students and dairy farmers actively participated the training.  They expressed their gratitude to DTI for providing them with the SSF for their Dairy Processing Project.  According to them, they can now increase the production of fresh milk with better quality through the use of the portable milking machine.

At present, Quirino State University-Dairy Farm Cooperative only produces buffalo pasteurized fresh milk.  The officers and members along with the project coordinators from QSU plan to have more processed dairy products in the future.
