The Department of Trade and Industry-Quirino Provincial Office spearheaded the Provincial Agro-OTOP (One Town One Product) Trade Fair and Exhibit in partnership with the Provincial Local Government Unit of Quirino and the different Municipal LGUs on September 8-10, 2017 at the Capitol Grounds, Cabarroguis, Quirino.

The activity was one of the highlights of the Panagdadapun Festival 2017 in celebration of the 46th Founding Anniversary of the province. It was conducted alongside other various activities including the conduct of the 1st Provincial Cacao Forum and a 3-day Diskwento Caravan.

The Trade Fair which aimed to showcase the diversity of products available in the province, as well as to promote Quirino as a reliable source of quality products and a desirable area for investment & tourism destinations, formally opened on September 8, 2017 through a ribbon cutting ceremony led by Hon. Governor Junie E. Cua and Madam Mary Ann Cua, chairperson of the Quirino Provincial Tourism Council, assisted by Hon. Vice Governor May Garnace Calaunan and OIC PD Ma. Sofia G. Narag.

The Trade Fair was organized by DTI in partnership with the LGUs to support the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Quirino.  It was a very effective platform for the local producers and manufacturers to showcase their products as well as widen their network. It was also one way of encouraging the people from the place to patronize locally produced products which will help boost entrepreneurship in the province.

The various LGUs acted as consolidators for the different products of the MSMEs in their respective municipalities.  They also encouraged capable producers to participate in the Trade Fair by personally selling their products and have first-hand experience in dealing with various buyers.  Guests and local buyers who visited the fair had experienced an array of finished and manufactured products as well as fresh and processed produce from the different corners of the province.  These included beautifully and skilfully crafted handicrafts, decors and furniture items as well as quality food products namely: fruit wines and beverages, fresh milk, soya milk, ginger teas with different flavours, banana chips, vegie chips, cassava crackers and other snack foods.  Fresh fruits and vegetables were also offered for sale in the different municipal booths.

The marketing event culminated with an awarding ceremony on September 10, 2017 recognizing the efforts of the LGUs and the participating SMEs.  Awards and prizes were given to the municipality with best dressed booth and to the producers with the most innovative products under processed food, GDH and furniture categories.
