As part of the celebration of the Consumer Welfare Month 2017 and in commemoration of the National Standards Week, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI)-Quirino Provincial Office partnered with various Local Government Units (LGUs) in Quirino conducted a series of Consumer Education and Information (CEI) Seminars on October 9-13, 2017 in the municipalities of Diffun, Saguday, Aglipay, Maddela and Nagtipunan.  It was attended by LGU staff, private individuals and business owners. 

Trade and Industry Development Specialist (TIDS) Lovell Mark C. Campania of DTI-Quirino, was the resource speaker in the first 4 municipalities. He discussed the topics on Consumer Rights and Responsibilities and Product Standards.  On the other hand, Negosyo Center Coordinator, Mr. Arnel Agustin acted as the resource speaker in Nagtipunan and discussed the topics on Consumer Rights and Responsibilities.   Both speakers gave the participants ideas on how to properly handle their complaints including the remedies that they are entitled to. 

DTI Quirino conducts CEIs to teach consumers on their basic rights and responsibilities, and spreads its advocacy especially to those in the marginalized sectors who become passive and being exploited by unscrupulous businessmen.♦
