Spearheaded by OIC PD Ma. Sofia G. Narag, DTI Quirino Provincial Office continues with its “Kalinga sa mga Katutubo” ng Nagtipunan Project in Nagtipunan, a far flung municipality of Quirino Province. With the theme “Serbisyong DTI, Serbisyong Higit pa sa Inaasahan – Kahit Saan, Kahit Kailan, Maging Sino Ka Man”, the project is part of the organizational culture of DTI Quirino which aims to promote teamwork and camaraderie among its personnel through a meaningful activity that strengthens the organization’s bond with the community specially with the indigenous and marginalized sectors in the province.
On October 4, 2017, DTI Quirino Team returned to Dissimungal Integrated School located at Sitio Dioryong in Barangay Dissimungal, the place where its Kalinga Project was launched in 2016. In this recently conducted activity, DTI Quirino Team partnered again with LGU Nagtipunan and TV5 Alagang Kapatid Foundation together with PLDT Smart Foundation and touched the lives of the indigenous school children as well as the teachers of the abovementioned school as they awarded a “School in a Bag” package which contains educational tools such as tablets, ipads, laptops, Smart pocket WI-FIs, solar panel with charger, dictionaries and story books. Health and wellness kits were likewise distributed.
The school principal, Mr. Roquito Panit, with his 13 diligent school teachers commended and extended their gratitude to DTI Quirino, LGU Nagtipunan, Alagang Kapatid Foundation and PLDT Smart Foundation for this meaningful project which, according to them, will benefit over 160 Agta, Ifugao and Bugkalot School children in acquiring more knowledge and improving their access to information.
Earlier this year, DTI Quirino partnered with the PLGU of Quirino and distributed rice to target beneficiaries that included pregnant women, senior citizens, persons with disabilities and indigent families. A total of 237 families benefitted from the project.♦
