The Department of Trade and Industry Region 02 joined the 1st Quarter Meeting of the Regional Development Council 02 held on February 15, 2018 at the Magat Eco-Tourism Park, Nueva Vizcaya to present updates on its two development programs which are both contributory to the region’s economy and competitiveness.
Governor Carlos Padilla, Chair of the RDC-02 presided the 1st Quarter Meeting which was attended by the member-agencies and private sector representatives.
Mr. Michael Paggabao and Ms. Zenaida M. Quinto, b111oth senior technical staff of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Region 02 presented the Updates on the Industry Clustering Program of the region and the 2017 CMCI Survey Results, respectively.
The presentations were well accepted by the council and appreciated the convergence among agencies in the development of regional priority industries. However, it was suggested that the convergence be further enhanced by defining clearly the roles of each agency to avoid duplication of interventions.
On the part of the 2017 CMCI Result, it was recommended that the LGUs come up with a Technical Working Group which will ensure the accuracy and completeness of information in the Data Capture Sheets and for the result to be presented before the League of Mayors. ♦
