TUGUEGARAO CITY — DTI R2 celebrated the 2023 World Consumer Rights Day Celebration with the theme “Empowering Consumers Through Clean Energy Transitions” in a two-pronged activity, at the DTI Regional Office 2, Carig Sur, Tuguegarao City, Cagayan on March 15, 2023.
The celebration was conducted through a simultaneous Consumer Forum carrying the tagline, “Energy Conservation is the Conversation: Responsible Energy Consumption.” Engr. Daryl Homer M. Ramos, Plant Manager of SN Aboitiz Power Magat, Inc., intelligibly shared his invaluable ideas in the first portion of the forum, which was complemented by the discussion of Mr. Rashid S. Bautista (TIDS), Head, Consumer Advocacy Unit, Consumer Protection Division, on Consumer Rights to a Healthy Environment. The forum was successfully steered in a hybrid setup where the provincial offices were on a single loop.
A ceremonial destruction of non-conforming products ensued in the afternoon, where DTI R2 led the activity. Present as witnesses were Hon. Tirso Mangada of the City Government of Tuguegarao, Ms. Tomasa Macutay, CPA, and Ms. Michell Alfonso, CPA of the Commission on Audit, Ms. Loreta P. Cabalza and Mr. Jayson Soriano of CENRO Tuguegarao, and partners from Bombo Radyo Tuguegarao and PIA Region 2. *
