The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) – Nueva Vizcaya, together with its partner agencies, conducted a ConsumerNet Meeting on September 28, 2016 at the DTI – Nueva Vizcaya Provincial Office Negosyo Center Training Room.
ConsumerNet members agreed to implement the following activities this October 2016: hanging of streamers; radio and TV guestings; kapihan sa PIA to be covered by JARED Productions; monitoring of the “Patak Asin” Project of the Provincial Health Office in the public markets; integration of the Consumer Protection Program in Elderly Filipino Week; compliance monitoring of various Fair Trade Laws; conduct of Diskwento Caravan; FILCOP Movement briefing and organization of consumer groups in public high schools; and preparation and dissemination of information materials on consumerism to the member agencies of Nueva Vizcaya ConsumerNet.
The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) is the lead agency in this year’s consumer month celebration, in cooperation with the National Consumer Affairs Council.
This celebration aims to promote dissemination of sound consumer information and heighten consumer awareness with the different laws governing consumer welfare and protection.
In attendance during the meeting were the representatives from TESDA, NFA, DepEd, PIA, DENR, PHO, BIR, PSA, EMB, BFR, Federation of NV Association of Senior Citizens, and DTI-NV headed by Mr. Henry O. Conel, Jr., OIC Provincial Director, who also presided over the meeting.
