The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Region 2 assisted the entrepreneurs which were Maddela Flowers and Crafts of Maddela, Quirino and Santos Women Weavers Association of Quirino, Isabela joined more than twenty (20) exhibitors in the 13th China-ASEAN Expo held at the Nanning International Convention and Exhibition Center, Guangxi, China on September 11-14, 2016.
Santos Women Weavers Association represented by Ms. Andrea Aswigue and Maddela Flowers and Crafts represented by Ms. Emilia Fernandez generated a total sales of US$ 508.28 and US$ 9,929.07, respectively during the four-day trade fair.
Among the products showcased were Santos loom woven bags, carpets, and rugs; and Maddela’s framed and bundled fossilized flowers.
The China-ASEAN Expo is the second biggest trade event in China, with a total exhibition space of about 80,000 sqm and 4,600 exhibition booths attracting more than 57,000 participants.
This year’s Philippine participation was led by the Center for International Trade Expositions and Missions (CITEM) composed of thirty one (31) exhibitors with total reported sales of US$ 7.5 Million.
The Philippines also bagged three awards during the event namely: 13th China-ASEAN Expo Best City of Charm Pavilion; 13th China-ASEAN Expo Best Trade Visitor Organizer; and 13th China-ASEAN Expo Best Promotion on Investment Cooperation.
