The Regional Competitiveness Committee (RCC), chaired by the Department of Trade and Industry – Region 02 (DTI), recently convened for its 1st Business Meeting for 2018 last March 06, 2018 at the NERBAC Conference Hall, DTI Regional Office No. 02, Tuguegarao City, Cagayan.

The meeting aimed to present the accomplishments of the RCC in 2017, to approve the proposed 2018 Work Plan, and to discuss the on-going and upcoming activities of the committee. 

In his Welcome Remarks, DTI OIC Regional Director Ruben B. Diciano conveyed his sincerest appreciation to the steadfast support of the RCC member-institutions in accomplishing the plans and programs of the committee. He noted that the proposed work program for 2018 is geared to improve the image of the Local Government Units (LGUs) as an investment destination with a competitive business-enabling environment. Finally, he stressed that the RCC will continue to play a significant role in promoting a more competitive Region 02.

Among the topics that were discussed are the “2018 Cities and Municipalities Competitiveness Index (CMCI) Survey”, “2017 Business Permits and Licensing System (BPLS) Field Monitoring and Evaluation Survey”, “2018 BPLS Customer Experience Survey”, “Roads Leveraging Linkages for Industry and Trade (ROLL – IT)”, and “Department of the Interior and Local Government’s (DILG’s) Accelerating Investments for More Businesses (AIMBIZ) Program”.

The meeting was attended by eleven (11) member-institutions and some representatives from the Office of Civil Defense and Bureau of Local Government Finance.♦
