The municipality of Orani in Bataan opened its Negosyo Center on June, 27, 2017 in ceremonies held at the Orani Multi-purpose Hall. In attendance during the launching were Bataan Board Member Gaudencio Ferrer, Mayor Efren Pascual, Vice-Mayor Godofredo Galicia, Councilor Rome Sicat, DTI-3 OIC Assistant Regional Director Zorina D. Aldana, DTI Bataan OIC Provincial Director Nelin O. Cabahug and other local officials.
The Orani Negosyo Center is the 13th center established in Central Luzon for 2017 and the 42nd center opened in the region since 2015. Republic Act No. 10644 or the Go Negosyo Act was enacted in 2014 to assist Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to develop and contribute to the economy. One of the provisions of the Go Negosyo Act is the establishment of a Negosyo Center in every local government unit.
During the opening program, Mayor Pascual expressed his gratitude to DTI and the different stakeholders for helping establish the center, which will help the growing MSME sector in the town. OIC-ARD Zorino D. Aldana gave an overview of the different services available at the Negosyo Center like business consultancy, product development, business information and market matching. She asked the MSME sector in Orani to take advantage of these services to grow their business and improve their community. Norman Cualteros of the Office of Senator Bam Aquino also conveyed best practices and success stories that happened during the three years that RA 10644 has been implemented.
As of June 2017, DTI-3 has established 42 Negosyo Centers in the region, with Bataan having five (5), Aurora with four (4), Bulacan with eight (8), Nueva Ecija with nine (9) while Pampanga has seven (7), Tarlac has six (6) and Zambales has three (3) Negosyo Centers.
