The Go Negosyo Act states that growth of MSME’s should be promoted in the country. Also, it is expected to bring the government services closer to small businesses through the establishment of Negosyo Centers in all provinces, cities and municipalities. These Negosyo Centers shall be responsible for promoting ease of doing business in facilitating access to services for MSMEs within its jurisdiction.

With its objective to assist and enable faster establishment of micro, small, and medium enterprises, various Negosyo Centers were targeted to be established around the Province of Batangas.

In 2015, the Department of Trade and Industry – Batangas Provincial Office targeted to establish Negosyo Center within each City in the Province, making it 3, including Negosyo Center Batangas City, Negosyo Center Tanauan and Negosyo Center Lipa. All of which are currently operating.

This year, DTI – Batangas Provincial Office aims to go beyond its cities, and to focus on each municipality around the Province. Considering their strategic location and competitiveness in terms of trade and employment, DTI – Batangas established its first Negosyo Center within District 2, District 4, and District 1.

Through the continuous assistance and cooperation of Local Government Unit, Negosyo Center – Bauan, Rosario and Nasugbu were given an opportunity, not just to promote MSMEs but also to go deeper, establish a bond, and stimulate linkages to develop and sustain the competitiveness of MSMEs and help them in sustaining a bigger market.

Also, the Negosyo Centers are performing functions such as Business Registration Assistance, Business Advocacy Services, Business Information and Advocacy, Monitoring and Evaluation of MSMEs.

In 2017, DTI – Batangas plans on going into the less urban areas for the establishment of new business incubation hubs which will continue to aid MSMEs and consumers.
