One Town, One Product (OTOP) Next Generation Screening, Assessment, and Triage (SAT) Sessions were conducted in Tagaytay City on 24-25 May 2017

To attain its goal of growing innovative and competitive micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) with strong brands, the Department of Trade and Industry – CALABARZON conducted the One Town, One Product (OTOP) Next Generation Screening, Assessment, and Triage (SAT) Sessions to CALABARZON entrepreneurs in Tagaytay City on 24-25 May 2017.

“The OTOP Next Gen is more upbeat and innovative to make our MSMEs more competitive. It will provide our MSMEs better services and offerings to enhance their products,” said DTI CALABARZON Regional Director Marilou Toledo.

OTOP Philippines is part of an ecosystem of current local entrepreneurship programs intended as a branding and marketing platform. It offers a comprehensive assistance package through a convergence of services from: product development; design services and intervention; technology updating; capacity-building; brand equity and development; intellectual property assistance; standards development and compliance; access to finance; and marketing platforms and promotions.

The OTOP briefing was followed with the presentation of OTOP Next Gen Evaluators and assessment and evaluation of products by industrial designers and food experts from the DTI-Design Center of the Philippines and Association of Region IV-A Designers, allowing MSMEs to ask questions and get advice from experts to improve their products.

As a result, DTI Region IV-A has called on “OTOPreneurs” to get in touch with their respective DTI local offices.
