Opening of the 10th Negosyo Center in Laguna

The Department of Trade and Industry, in partnership with the Local Government of Alaminos, opened the Negosyo Center at the Municipal Compound in Alaminos, Laguna on 29 May 2017.

Alaminos is the 10th Negosyo Center launched in the province after Pagsanjan, Binan, Los Banos, Santa Rosa, Calamba, Victoria, San Pedro, San Pablo, and Santa Maria.

“We are very thankful to DTI for bringing their services closer to our people. Negosyo Center is a big help for us because it is now convenient for our entrepreneurs to register or renew their business name certification. We can also encourage our people to engage in business,” said Alaminos Mayor Loreto “Intong” Masa.

The Go Negosyo Law or RA10644 mandates the creation of a Negosyo Center in all provinces, cities, and municipalities. Negosyo Center is a one-stop shop for services that cater to the entrepreneurs’ needs in processing requirements necessary to establish a business and in accessing information essential for their growth.

Some of the Negosyo Center services are: accepting and facilitating all new registration and renewal application of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), including application for Barangay Micro-Business Enterprise (BMBE); assisting MSMEs in meeting regulatory requirements to start and maintain the business; providing information and services in training, financing, marketing, and other areas as may be required by MSMEs; and facilitating access to grants and other forms of financial assistance.

“Negosyo Center also offers training on product development, which will surely help our MSMEs to improve their products and to be able to become more competitive in the business,” said DTI Laguna Officer-in-Charge Marcelina Alcantara.

The launching was attended by the Alaminos Municipal Councilors, LGU staff, and partner agencies like the Philippine Statistic Authority, Bureau of Internal Revenue, Department of Agriculture, Department of Social Welfare and Development, Department of Health, Bureau of Fire Protection, Department of Interior and Local Government, among others.

Negosyo Center Alaminos is calling on existing and aspiring entrepreneurs to visit its office and know more about the services and training available.
