Participants of WISE forum through Zoom

The Department of Trade and Industry – Rizal Provincial Office (DTI Rizal) through Negosyo Center Cardona celebrated Women’s Month by promoting women entrepreneurship and financial literacy and invited women MSMEs and private partners. This WISE (Women’s Initiatives for Successful Entrepreneurs) Forum, conducted via Zoom and Facebook Live, aimed to provide opportunities to women to gain additional knowledge and information on entrepreneurship and to upgrade their productivity and value-added capabilities to contribute to the economic growth of Rizal Province.

Ms. Jovi Caoile of Scents & Memories Enterprises, manufacturer of “Aircon in a bottle,” shared her journey as a woman entrepreneur and the challenges she faced through that journey. Ms Caoile revealed that Ms. Chai Tanawan of BIBA Cakes & Pastries Shop, started her talk by sharing how her business begun and the reason why she started it. As a former educator, she was inspired to go into business with the help of her family. Ms. Melissa Jane Rillera of T&C Logistics Services, the people behind “Grocers”, the ones who bravely took care of people’s grocery runs and other essentials during the peak of COVID-19, highlighted the importance of finding one’s purpose by helping others. Valuable lessons they shared with the participants include the importance creating opportunities in times of crisis and making difference with the products or services they are offering.

Also present during the webinar were women executives from the Bank of the Philippine Islands, Ms. Cara Funk, Marketing Head of BPI Business Banking, Ms. Patricza Maala, Business Loan Advisor and Ms. Kash Claveria, Division Head at BPI Bank Assurance. They discussed Financial Literacy for Women Entrepreneurs, BPI Products and Importance of Insurance especially during these trying times.

Ms. Sharon Dioco, Chief of Business Development Division of DTI Rizal acknowledged and expressed her gratitude to the guests who generously gave their time to share their experiences and expertise to empower more women. Likewise, Ms. Dioco expressed DTI Rizal’s appreciation and admiration to all the women who continue to make the world a better place with their invaluable contribution in development of nation’s economy. ♦
