Nagcarlan, Laguna — The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Laguna Provincial Office thru Negosyo Center Nagcarlan in partnership with Sangguniang Barangays in Nagcarlan, Laguna, conducted its second run of Negosyo Center weekly seminar held at Barangay Sinipian, Nagcarlan, on March 12, 2020. The participants showed interest during this How to Start a Business Seminar cum Consumer Education despite the COVID-19 issue. Barangay Sinipian is a bit far from the town proper that is why most of the residents are not aware of the programs and services of DTI.

Other DTI-Laguna Negosyo Centers, particularly in Alaminos, Bay, Pagsanjan, and Santa Maria, also continue to conduct simultaneous coaching sessions on how to start a business, business plan preparation, securing a business loan, P3 loan programs, consumer education, customer services management, and DTI programs and services in order to provide assistance and be an economic catalyst in enabling innovative, competitive, and empowering consumers. However, due to COVID-19, the rest of Laguna Negosyo Centers cancelled their scheduled weekly seminar to observe precautionary and preventive measures in accordance to their respective local government units’ ordinances. For March, a total of approximately 135 potential, new, and existing micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) participated in the said activities. These activities were conducted as a support and assistance to provide MSMEs with information regarding the aforementioned topics and provide them with advisory services tailored according to their needs.
