“Serbisyong Higit Pa sa Inaasahan,” that is what DTI Region 8 spells out as RD Cynthia Nierras and the rest of DTI 8 officials received the certificates for the agency’s PRIME HRM Maturity Level 2.

On September 22, 2017, the Department of Trade and Industry 8 was awarded by the Civil Service Commission Region 8 with the certificates of recognition in the four core systems of the Program to Institutionalize Meritocracy and Excellence in Human Resource Management (PRIME HRM).

During the CSC On-site Assessment on September 4-5, 2017 at the DTI 8 Regional Office, DTI 8 has been rated 100% in the following systems: (1) Recruitment, Selection and Placement; (2) Learning and Development; (3) Performance Management; and the (4) Rewards and Recognition.

As PRIME HRM aims to elevate public sector human resource management to a level of excellence; and as DTI attains its vision of “A More Inclusive and Prosperous Philippines with Employment and Income Opportunities for All”, it strives to develop a credible and robust HR system that will produce in-house specialists; and pro-actively promotes a synergized organization anchored on a dynamic and efficient knowledge management system.

Unique to DTI, it has implemented the Performance Governance System (PGS) – a performance management framework based on the Balanced Scorecard technology of Harvard Business School’s David Norton and Robert Kaplan. It is used to monitor how well the organization is doing in achieving its strategic goals. It is a results-based and credible system that translates the agency’s high-level objectives of building a more inclusive and prosperous Philippines, and its mission of enabling business and empowering consumers, into actionable strategies and commitments that can be tracked, measured and improved on.

Through the DTI’s strong HR System, it brings employees and the organization together to accomplish shared expectations.
