THE Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), through its Export Marketing Bureau (EMB), awarded the top Philippine companies for their exceptional export performance during the National Export Congress (NEC) held at the Philippine International Convention Center in Pasay City on December 7.
The awardees were recognized based on their track record, excellence and innovation in the delivery of services. These exporters have persisted on competitiveness and continued to contribute to the Philippines’s export revenue.
The DTI recognizes exporters to acknowledge their hard work and as a testament to the strong partnership between the government and the private sector in pursuing the country’s inclusive and sustainable export development.
Trade Secretary Ramon M. Lopez, DTI-Trade and Investments Promotion Group Undersecretary Nora K. Terrado, DTI-EMB Director Senen M. Perlada and Philippine Exporters Confederation, Inc. (Philexport) President Sergio R. Ortiz-Luis Jr. conferred the awards on 23 top-performing exporters of the country.
This year’s Hall of Fame Awardees were Hanjin Heavy Industries and Construction (HHIC) Philippines Inc. for Machinery and Transport Equipment; and Taganito HPAL Nickel Corp. for Minerals and Shin-Etsu Magnetics Philippines for Electronic Equipment and Parts. The Hall of Fame Award is conferred to exporters who were consistently awarded as Top Export Performers in the last three consecutive years.
Honored for Top Sectoral Award were Amkor Technology Philippines Inc. for Electronics; HHIC Philippines Inc. for Machinery and Transport Equipment; Lear Automotive Services (Netherlands) for Motor Vehicle Parts (Ignition Wiring Sets); Petron Corp. for Chemicals; New Davao Oil Mill Inc. for Coconut Oil; and SCAD Services Pte. Ltd. for Woodcrafts and Furniture.
Other awardees were Takata (Philippines) Corp., for Metal Components; Taganito HPAL Nickel Corp. for Minerals; Shin-Etsu Magnetics Philippines for Electronic Equipment and Parts; Sumifru (Philippines) Corp. for Fresh Fruits (Bananas); L & T International Group Philippines Inc. for Apparel; and Nestle Philippines Inc. for Processed Food and Beverages.
Meanwhile, the Excellence Award for Services were conferred on Toon City Animation (Morph Animation Inc.) for Animation Services; Golden ABC Inc. (Penshoppe Brand) for Franchising Services; GameOps Inc. for Game Development Services; ADEC Innovations for IT-BPM Services (Knowledge Process Outsourcing on Environmental Management Solutions); and Orange and Bronze Software Labs Inc. for IT Services (Software Development).
The Award for Services are conferred on exporters who have shown ideal contribution to the industry and exhibited excellence in their respective fields.
Also, the Most Outstanding Ripples Plus Award was given to exporters based on Philippine Statistics Authority ranking for micro, small, and medium enterprises, and in recognition of their outstanding international success in penetrating global markets. The awards were conferred to Peter Paul Philippine Corp. for Luzon; Profood International Corp. for the Visayas; and Malagos Agri-Ventures Corp. for Mindanao.
These recognitions were designed to promote excellence and inspire the whole exporting community. Aside from providing motivation to the country’s exporters to keep on improving and innovating, the NEC 2018 also aims to increase the reach of Filipino exporters.
