Berlin, GERMANY. The Philippine Team in Germany headed by Charge d’ Affaires Lillibeth Pono with PTIC-Berlin Commercial Counsellor Nicanor Bautista, Minister and Consul Mary Luck Hicarte, Labor Attaché Atty Delmer Cruz met with German Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry Executive Director Christopher Zimmer and Head of Government Affairs Yves Aguilos on 5 September to discuss areas of cooperation seen to further strengthen PH-DE bilateral economic relations.

PTIC-Berlin together with the Philippine Embassy in Germany chaired the discussion centered on the Philippine participation in the Asia Pacific Conference of the German Business (German: Asien-Pazifik-Ausschuss der Deutschen Wirtschaft / APK) in Singapore in November 2022, rising demands for Filipino nurses in Germany, digitalization efforts of the German Government, which have opened opportunities for PH-ITBPO services, cooperation in the PH manufacturing webinar on 27 September and in seminars involving EU-GDPR topics for potential PH ITBPO players in Germany. 

In 2021, Germany was the Philippines’ 12th trading partner, 7th export market and 14th import source with total trade amounting to over US$ 2 billion. During the same year, top PH exports to DE include electronics and semiconductor products, while the country’s top imports from DE during the same year include laboratory chemicals, vaccines and aircrafts.
